Margo & Jackson :: Santa Barbara Wedding

Ah, where to start?! Margo and Jackson both played a significant role in my life during my time in college; Jackson and I commiserated in more than one physics class together in my first years of Westmont (though who doesn't want to take a class called Differential Equations?), and it was probably his quirky sense of humor and incredible ability to replicate any sound effect known to man that made any of those classes enjoyable (okay, they weren't that bad of classes, but still...). Margo, on the other hand, I got to know better near the end of my time at Westmont, when we were resident assistants together in the same dorm. If it weren't for Margo, our staff probably would've gotten a lot less done - Margo's dedication and hard-working spirit is phenomenal - and laughed a lot less - like Jackson, Margo has a great sense of humor, and a wonderful and contagious laugh to accompany it! As you can probably guess, they had an incredibly fun wedding; here's a collection of some of my favorite photos from the day!

Anne & David :: Santa Barbara Engagement

I had such a fun time shooting Anne and David's engagement session on Saturday! They spent the evening walking, talking, and laughing together (okay, there may have been a little kissing too :), and it is so obvious how much they care for each other. We couldn't have asked for better weather or a more beautiful sunset. Looking forward to the wedding!

Rachel & Spencer :: Lake Tahoe Wedding

I have loved getting to know Rachel and Spencer over the course of the last year. Rachel, who I was on RA staff with in VK, is thoughtful, ever-inquisitive, shares my love for correct grammar :), and has a wonderful sense of humor. Spencer is genuine, caring, easy-going, and a lot of fun to be around, so it was a pleasure having him in my section last year. The two met each other while on vacation in Lake Tahoe four years back, and the following years led to them dating, attending Westmont together, falling in love, and starting a new life together (getting married at the same resort they met at exactly four years prior)! Apryl & Mikey :: Proposal

There's something really special about taking pictures for a couple you've known for years, and photographing Mikey proposing to Apryl was certainly no exception to that. I met Apryl around 10 years ago in what was probably a junior high social studies class (but who really remembers junior high social studies, right?), and Mikey over 4 years ago in a photography class, so naturally I was pretty excited when Mikey asked me about shooting the proposal. I was more than happy to help out, and yesterday afternoon Mikey asked Apryl to be his wife (after spending several minutes anxiously searching for the blanket, bouquet, card, and ring that his friend DJ and I positioned apparently a little too far from the trail...whoops!).
